Fastening strips, also called file prongs or file fasteners, can easily be assembled into a folder and are used for organizing and archiving paper work. Our product range contains fastening strips of several models and sizes.

File prongs – What are the sizes?
Self adhesive fastening strips are equipped with a glue layer for easy assembly into a folder. The metal strips are available with or without protective end-caps. You can choose for white or black strips in the following models:
- Fastening strips including compressor bar
- Fastening strips including compressor bar and fastening plate
- Optional: cover strip for finishing off the strips
In our webshop you will also find non-self-adhesive fastening strips and binding systems that can be used separately. These are available in the following models:

File prongs – Usage & assembly
Self adhesive file prongs can easily be assembled by fixing them in a plastic folder by means of the glue strip. It can subsequently be used to organize or archive paper work.
You could also prefer to archive without folders and only use fastening strips. In our product range you will find several non self adhesive fastening strips for paper work, magazines or print work.

Cover strips
Cover strips are available in black or white with a length of 297 mm. They exactly match the 150 mm x 20 mm self adhesive file fasteners. You will find the file prongs and cover strips (to be ordered separately) in our webshop.

How much paper work fits into a fastening strip?
This depends on the model of fastening strip. For example, if you order a self adhesive fastening strip of 145 mm with a perforation distance of 80 mm, the remaining space is 65 mm; 32.5 mm on each side.
Evidently the top of the strip needs to be bend in order to fix the documents within. This means you would have about 2.5 cm left in total to fill with paper work.
Can file fasteners be ordered for larger bundles?
Yes, in this case you would need a larger size file fasteners. If the measurements of your bundle are known, you could make a similar calculation as in question 1 to determine the needed strip size.
Can I order coloured file prongs as well?
No, we can only supply a file prongs in black and white.
